SBMA CURATORIAL LABELS
There was much cultural exchange between the Etruscans of early Italy and the Greeks, who colonized the southern Italian Coastline. This small representation of a discus thrower is reminiscent of Archaic Greek sculpture with its stylization and rounded proportions. It also recalls the Greek fascination with the nude male athletic body.
