May 1890
After another attack resulting in a prolonged recovery, Vincent paints some small canvases from memory and many small drawings of the north, particularly the Brabant area of Holland, where he spent his childhood.
He participates in the sixth exhibition of the Independants in Paris with ten canvases. Claude Monet tells Theo that Vincent’s pictures were the best in the exhibition.
